Watch out, there’s a traitor in your workplace
How good are you with judging a person’s character, especially a co-worker’s? I believe I suck at it.
I just found out recently that a former co-worker of mine was responsible for some pretty nasty, behind-the-scenes office maneuvering and politicking that eventually helped me decide to leave my job in one of the companies that I used to work for. I feel like Caesar during his assassination, “Et tu, Brut?”
It’s quite sad because I treated him as a friend. I even used to envy him for his work ethic. But this guy, so I’ve heard, apparently has a lot of issues that he needs to sort out at present. And in my opinion, being a “backstabber” is one of them. It’s too bad he didn’t take the “Indian Talking Stick” approach by speaking to me and clarifying things.
In any case, it’s water under the bridge and a blessing in disguise. Life goes on, the earth spins, and karma gets to you.

Let’s call the guy, “Brut.” I for one, trusted Brut and I really thought he was a good man and a good friend. Looks can really be deceiving, huh?
For you Brut, thanks for making PJ’s career hell back then… on the other hand, if it’s not for your backstabbing, he wouldn’t be where he is now. earning your position now at the expense of others? what more can i say?
whattareal man you are!
ever heard of Karma?
PJ, I have to say that I’d like to think that I am a good judge of character, but I realize that I have been slighted in the past as well. Sometimes when you have an open, trusting heart, you tend to see the good in everyone…or at least want to see the good in everyone.
I believe that in the end, what goes around comes around. It’s unfortunate that some people can get away with that kind of behaviour for a while…but it’ll catch up with them sooner or later.
Just be thankful that you are who you are and that you’re a good person :) I actually feel sorry for ‘Brut’. It must be sad to live a life where you get by in life being two-faced, deceitful and backstabbing.
Been there, and done that, too, Peej. Think of it this way, though, compared to your ‘Brutus,’ you’re 10,000 times more of a man than he ever will be.
Can’t say I pity him. It’s more his parents that I feel pity for – this is the kind of man they’ve raised? Oi vei…
Thanks for the comments guys! I appreciate it… Anyway, I wish him the best. Fortunately, everything actually turned out better for me and my family, and so we actually have a lot to thank for.
